Fatiha is an arabic word with literal meaning of ‘The Opening’ this is the very first chapter of Quran when you open it. Surah Fatiha consists of seven verses, on the other hand it is the most recited chapter of the Holy Quran because each Muslim is bound to recite it in Salah (prayers) five times a day.

Surah al fatiha is also considered as dua which all Muslim must seek from Allah. It starts from praising Allah SWT and his mercifulness, in the mid it explains the glory of Allah, it ends on words asking straight path from Allah SWT.

Arabic Text of Surah Fatiha

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ

الْحَمْدُ للّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

الرَّحْمـنِ الرَّحِيمِ

مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ

إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ

اهدِنَــــا الصِّرَاطَ المُستَقِيمَ

صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنعَمتَ عَلَيهِمْ

غَيرِ المَغضُوبِ عَلَيهِمْ وَلاَ الضَّالِّينَ

In The Name Of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds

The Beneficent, the Merciful

Master of the Day of Judgment

Thee do we serve and Thee do we beseech for help

Keep us on the right path

The path of those upon whom Thou hast bestowed favors. Not (the path) of those upon whom Thy wrath is brought down, nor of those who go astray

'Īyāka Na`budu Wa 'Īyāka Nasta`īnu

Ahdinā Aş-Şirāţa Al-Mustaqīma
