Learn to convert to Islam following simple steps, no matter which religion you belong to, embracing Islam and converting to Muslim is not a big task as long as you’re convinced by Islam and its truthfulness. There are two types of conversions to Islam namely Sharai and the legal.

• Islamic Method of Accepting Islam

• Legal Way to Register yourself as Muslim 

As for the Islamic method of accepting Islam, is simple compared to any religion. All you need to become a Muslim is to convince yourself intellectually on Islamic fundamental concepts which are require to become a Muslim such as believing in the Ones of Allah SWT, do not associating partners with Him, accepting Muhammad SAWW as His SWT last and final Messenger and Prophet along with the Holy Book ‘Quran’ as the final revelation of Allah, and the other decisive concepts and teachings of Islam. No public announcement if required to become a Muslim. All is a matter of you and you’re heart.

As for the legal way to register yourself as a Muslim, there are two things,

1. Public Declaration

2. Registering to State

You can publically announce that you’re now Muslim, converted to Islam and left your previous stand by saying Kalima as Shahada,

"Ash-hadu an la ilaha ill Allah, Wa ash-hadu ana Muhammad ar-rasullallah."

Translation: I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, And I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.

Take shower then to cleaning for body after cleaning your heart by Shahada and start practicing Islamic teachings.

Secondly, to deal with legal issue such as passport making to travel etc. you’ve to register yourself as Muslim to State according to the rules of your country. Jazakallah!
