The Existence of God (Allah) must be Rational According to Muslim Scholars
Existence of God - One of the fundamental Islamic believe is believing on the existence of the creator of the universe with its quality i.e. Allah (God) with his ones. Muslim believe that there is no creator but Allah, one and only. He the Allah is eternal, not created and has all the powers and knowledge of everything. He the Allah is the creator of everything that exists. He has no son nor has he the father of any kind. Simply, there is nothing like or similar to him exists.
However, many of Muslims scholars believe that believing on all mighty Allah (God) is not merely a belief that there exists a creator as in other religions, but Islam also invites to believe in Allah rationally. And many of scholars believe that Taqleed (Following Blindly) or imitation in this matter is haram (Prohibited) in Islam. Thus, believing on the existence of Allah (The Creator) in His quality must be rational with evidence and reasoning. Otherwise, believe might not be accepted.
Today, we are not going to explain how we can approach that there exists a creator who is eternal, not created by anyone and has no beginning. Or in other words, how Muslim scholars believe that believing on super natural being who is beyond the nature is rational. As the topic suggests, we are only going to explain how Quran and other Islamic traditions and the sayings of scholars invites to believe in Allah rationally. Some of them are given below.
''Only those are the believers who have believed in Allaah and His Messenger, and afterward doubt not but strive with their wealth and their lives for the Cause of Allah. Those! They are the truthful" (Quran 49:15)
How Allah invites to believe rationally.
“And among His signs are the night and the day and the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate to the sun nor to the moon. And prostrate to Allah who created them, if it is Him that you serve” (Quran 41:37)
Therefore, Islam has made reason as the arbitrator when it comes to believing in Allah and has forbidden imitation in Aqeedah. Allah (swt) says: "Behold! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alteration of night and day, these are indeed signs for men of understanding." (Quran 3:190).
