You cannot communicate with someone on Skype unless you have accepted contact request. Contact requests can be view from pending contact requests in Recent. The people send you contact request are listed as pending contact requests in Recent. By accepting and rejecting the request, you decide whether you want that particular contact in your Contact list or not.

After the contact is in your Contact list, whether you accepted that request, or you send someone a request that is accepted, in both cases, you are now able to communicate with that contact through Skype, whether you communicate with Instant Messages (IMs), through video calls or audio conversation.

Accepting pending contact request in Skype is very easy, simple and quick, just follow the following steps to learn.

1. Start you Skype with username and password

2. Go to Recent to see if anyone sends you message or contact request

3. Click the contact that sent you friend request on Skype from Recent, you’ll see the following
   

4. To accept the contact request, click Accept. The contact is added to your contact list

5. To reject the contact request, click Decline

6. That’s it!
