To interact with anyone on Skype, you have to accept the contact request in Skype. If the contact is not accepted in Skype, you cannot make calls or chat with that contact. In other words, if someone sends you a contact request, you will need to accept it before you can talk to them, vice versa.

Sending or accepting a contact request in Skype is easy, simple and quick. Just follow the following instructions to get your work done.
 

Sending Request:

Sending request to someone on Skype is easy. If you know the Skype name, email address or phone number of that contact, you just need to search that contact in search bar given at top left panel, just under your profile name.

When you’re successful to find a contact, just press the button “Add to Contacts” given at the top middle of the Skype window and wait till the contact accepts your request.
 

Accepting Request:

When someone sends you request or message, number inside the orange circle will be appear in your Recent.Click Recent given above your contact list to see messages and the list of pending requests.

Finally, click the contact requesting to accept and click button “Accept” to accept and “Decline” to reject the contact request just as given below.
