Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar Halal or not read detailed information about it, ruling of Islam on apple cider vinegar halal or haraam status for Muslims. Vinegar is the most commonly used product in the kitchen to make dishes more and more tasty and attractive with products made with vinegar. Here the question is that either apple cider vinegar is halal or not in Islam to be used as a taste enhancer in the Muslims kitchen which can only use halal foods on their table.

Halal food is one which is lawful to eat by Muslims as teached by Islam to its followers, so read properly to know about what is the case with apple cider vinegar in Islam. Vinegar is a product of hundreds of years ago and it was available in the time of prophet as it is indicated in the following hadith.

It is reported by Jaabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that prophet (peace and blessings of allah be upon him) said that “what a good food is vinegar.” (Reported by Muslim, 3/1623)

The Maalikis, Shafi’is, and Hanbalis have an opinion about the vinegar made from wine: as apple cider vinegar is also made with same process in which the juice of apple is first converted into wine and then it is converted into vinegar so you should take the following hadith into consideration before making any decision about buying apple cider vinegar from market.

Shaffi’is, hanbalis and maalikis says that it is not lawful to deliberately change wine in to vinegar because it is not pure it you do so. The evidence which they refer on this point is the hadith which is written as below.
Anas ibn Maalik (may Allah be pleased with him) said “The Prophet of Allah (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was questioned that can wine be changed to be used as vinegar? He said ‘NO’ (Reported by Muslim)

Second evidence which adds weight in to the above opinion which also works on apple cider vinegar is here read it deeply and attentively so that you can understand it properly. It is reported by Abu Tallah (May Allah be Pleased with him) that it has been asked from prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about the orphans who had inherited some of wine, he said ‘Pour it away’ then he is questioned whether they could not make it into vinegar? He said NO. (Reported by Muslim)

So any vinegar which is manufactured from the process listed here which includes the making of vinegar from wine or any other Haraam material is not lawful for Muslims to be eaten because it is not pure there are traces of alcohol in it which left behind during the process of making apple cider vinegar.
